Join the iPhone & iPad Beta¶
PagePilot Viewer beta testing is primarily focused on iPad use. You are also welcome to try it on an iPhone. It requires iOS or iPadOS 14 or later.
What You Need¶
- An iPhone or iPad with an internet connection
- The free TestFlight app
- The invitation email or public test link we sent you
You can get TestFlight free from the App Store. Apple Account prompts and screen wording can differ by device, so follow the prompts on your device.
Accept the Invitation and Install¶
- Open the invitation email or public test link on your iPhone or iPad.
- Follow the prompts to open TestFlight and accept the invitation.
- In TestFlight, select Install for PagePilot Viewer.
- When installation finishes, open PagePilot Viewer from the Home Screen.
An external test build can become available only after Apple has completed its review. If you have the invitation but cannot use the build yet, wait a little and check TestFlight again.
First Launch and Permissions¶
At first launch or when you first use a feature, the app may ask for access to photos, Bluetooth, or your local network. Read each prompt and allow only what the feature you want to test needs. You can review permissions later in your iPhone or iPad settings.
Install Updates¶
When a newer build is available, open TestFlight and choose Update for PagePilot Viewer. Even if you receive a notification, install updates through TestFlight. A test build can be used for up to 90 days after it becomes available. If a build is nearing or past its expiry, check TestFlight for a newer one.
Keep Beta Data Safe¶
Do not rely on the beta as the only setup for an important performance. Back up anything important before a substantial import, settings change, or long rehearsal.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in device settings can remove local data. If something goes wrong, do not uninstall or clear data casually. Contact the beta feedback hub first.
A Short Pre-rehearsal Check¶
- Open a score and check page turns and orientation.
- Confirm that your setlist and song order open correctly.
- Briefly test any pedal, touch gesture, or audio feature you use while playing.
- Confirm that important scores and settings have a backup.
Avoid installing an update for the first time immediately before an important performance; check it when you have time to recover.
What to Include in Feedback¶
Please send bugs and concerns through the beta feedback hub. The following details help us investigate:
- Device model, iOS / iPadOS version, and the app version and build number
- Steps leading to the issue, expected result, and actual result
- Whether it happens every time or only with a particular score, setting, or action
- Screenshots you are comfortable sharing
- Diagnostics exported through Global Settings > About This App > Share Diagnostics
See the hub for information you should not send, such as score contents, setlists, or passwords. Feedback and support communication are in Japanese.
Troubleshooting¶
- Check Wi-Fi or mobile data, then reopen TestFlight.
- Open the invitation email or public test link again and check whether PagePilot Viewer appears in TestFlight.
- If an update will not install, check for an available newer build or an expired 90-day test period.
- For an app or feature issue, restart the device and try the same action once.
- If it remains unresolved, do not uninstall the app; send the details and diagnostics to the feedback hub.
