PagePilot Terms of Use¶
Last updated: June 15, 2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using the sheet-music viewer app "PagePilot" (the "App") provided by Katsushi Kawato ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
1. Application¶
- These Terms apply to all relationships between us and you regarding your use of the App.
- The App is distributed through platforms such as the App Store and Google Play. Each platform's own terms also apply, and where they conflict with these Terms, the platform's terms may prevail.
2. License¶
- We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the App in accordance with these Terms.
- You may not redistribute, sell, lend, or sublicense the App itself.
3. Fees¶
- The App is provided free of charge and contains no in-app purchases. If we change this in the future, we will announce it in these Terms and in each store listing.
4. Your Data and Content¶
- All scores, audio, annotations, text, and other material that you import into the App ("User Content") are handled entirely under your own responsibility.
- You represent that you hold the necessary rights (including copyright and other rights) to your User Content, or are otherwise legally entitled to use it.
- The App stores User Content only on your device and does not transmit or store it on any external server, including ours. We cannot access your User Content. See the Privacy Policy for details.
5. Prohibited Conduct¶
When using the App, you must not:
- act in violation of laws or public order and morals;
- use the App in a manner that infringes the copyright or other rights of third parties;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App (except to the extent permitted by applicable law); or
- interfere with the provision or operation of the App, or otherwise act in a way we reasonably deem inappropriate.
6. Intellectual Property¶
- Intellectual property rights in the App and its accompanying content (logos, design, text, and so on) belong to us or to the rightful owners.
- The App includes third-party software and fonts (including open-source components), which are subject to their respective license terms.
7. Third-Party Services¶
- The App connects to GitHub (github.com) to retrieve display fonts. If you use another service (such as cloud storage) to share or store data, that service's own terms and privacy policy apply. We are not responsible for such third-party services.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties¶
- The App is provided "as is." We make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or freedom from errors or interruptions of the App.
- The App may be used to display scores and turn pages during live or other performances. We do not warrant the reliability of its operation in such situations (including freedom from stoppages, delays, malfunctions, or data inconsistencies). For critical situations, always verify in advance and keep a backup method available, such as paper scores.
9. Limitation of Liability¶
- To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App (including loss of data, lost profits, and the interruption or failure of a performance or show).
- Even where we are liable under applicable law, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
10. Backups¶
- User Content is stored only on your device. Data may be lost due to device failure or loss, uninstalling the App, and similar events. You are responsible for making backups as appropriate.
11. Changes to and Discontinuation of the App¶
- We may change the App, or suspend or discontinue its provision, without prior notice to you.
12. Privacy¶
- For how the App handles information, please see the Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to These Terms¶
- We may revise these Terms as needed. If we make a material change, we will announce it on this page. If you continue to use the App after a revision, you are deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction¶
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
- In the event of a dispute between us and you regarding the App or these Terms, the court having jurisdiction over our address shall be the court of exclusive agreed jurisdiction for the first instance.
