Join the Android Beta

PagePilot Viewer beta testing is primarily focused on tablets. Compatible Android smartphones are welcome too. It requires Android 9 or later, and the distributed app is for 64-bit ARM devices. Some older or unusual devices may still be unsupported.

What You Need

  • An Android device with an internet connection
  • A Google account to accept the invitation
  • The Firebase App Distribution invitation email or link we sent you
  • Preferably, the Firebase App Tester app

Keep using the same Google account that accepted the invitation. App Tester is the recommended way to find, install, and update the beta.

Accept the Invitation and Install

  1. Open the invitation email or link on your Android device.
  2. Follow the prompts to accept the invitation with your Google account.
  3. If prompted to use Firebase App Tester, install and open it.
  4. Select PagePilot Viewer in App Tester or on the invitation page, then choose Install.
  5. When installation finishes, open PagePilot Viewer from the Home Screen.

The first installation may ask you to allow app installation from this source or to allow unknown apps for App Tester or your browser. This is a one-time permission needed to install this beta. Its wording and location can vary by Android version and device.

First Launch and Permissions

At first launch or when you first use a feature, the app may ask for access to notifications, photos, or Bluetooth. Read each prompt and allow only what the feature you want to test needs. You can review permissions later in Android settings.

Install Updates

When a newer build is available, open Firebase App Tester and check for an update to PagePilot Viewer. We recommend using App Tester for updates as well. Do not forward or distribute the invitation link or APK to anyone else.

Keep Beta Data Safe

Do not rely on the beta as the only setup for an important performance. Back up anything important before a substantial import, settings change, or long rehearsal.

Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in Android settings can remove local data. Do not uninstall or clear data casually if something goes wrong. If an existing, conflicting build prevents installation, contact the beta feedback hub before uninstalling anything.

A Short Pre-rehearsal Check

  • Open a score and check page turns and orientation.
  • Confirm that your setlist and song order open correctly.
  • Briefly test any pedal, touch gesture, or audio feature you use while playing.
  • Confirm that important scores and settings have a backup.

Avoid installing an update for the first time immediately before an important performance; check it when you have time to recover.

What to Include in Feedback

Please send bugs and concerns through the beta feedback hub. The following details help us investigate:

  • Device model, Android version, and the app version and build number
  • Steps leading to the issue, expected result, and actual result
  • Whether it happens every time or only with a particular score, setting, or action
  • Screenshots you are comfortable sharing
  • Diagnostics exported through Global Settings > About This App > Share Diagnostics

See the hub for information you should not send, such as score contents, setlists, or passwords. Feedback and support communication are in Japanese.

Troubleshooting

  1. Check Wi-Fi or mobile data, then reopen Firebase App Tester.
  2. Open the invitation email or link again and confirm that you are using the Google account that accepted it.
  3. On the first install, check whether you allowed app installation from App Tester or your browser.
  4. If an update is unavailable, check whether App Tester shows a newer build.
  5. For a conflicting build, launch failure, or unresolved issue, do not uninstall first; send the details and diagnostics to the feedback hub.
