Text Page Editor

The Text Page Editor is where you directly edit text-based scores — lyrics sheets, ChordPro charts, Markdown notes, Fumen charts, and similar formats. You can fix lyrics, add chord notation, reorganize sections and headings, use input helpers to keep the syntax tidy, and switch to preview at any time to check how everything looks.

Changing the Text Page Format

You can switch among Plain Text, ChordPro, Markdown, and Fumen. Changing the format changes how the same content is interpreted and displayed, and which input helpers are available.

If the same text page is used by multiple songs or setlist items, the format change affects every place that uses that page. When the confirmation dialog appears, verify that those other uses should change too. If only one song needs a different format, cancel the change and duplicate the source text page from the Scores tab in the Score, MusicXML, and Audio Library. Then open that song's settings, replace its score with the duplicate, and change the duplicate's format.

If you need to isolate the change with certainty, do not treat the absence of a confirmation dialog as proof that the page is used only once. Verify that the current song uses the duplicated page before editing it.

Edit Mode

The editor opens in edit mode by default. Changes are saved automatically, so you can refine your content incrementally without worrying about losing work. The top of the editing area shows whether changes are saved, saving, or unsaved, along with the A4 page count. For formats that shrink to fit long lines, such as ChordPro, it also shows the shrink amount so you can adjust the source width before opening preview. The size buttons on the same row change only the editor text size, from 100% up to 200% in steps. This does not affect the source content, preview, or actual score display. ChordPro chords and directives, along with Markdown headings and formatting tokens, are highlighted so you can see what the editor will interpret as syntax while you type.

Preview

Switch to preview mode to see a close approximation of how the score will appear during a show. If you want to check how lines wrap or how chords are positioned, it is worth switching to preview rather than relying on the editor view alone.

To refine the layout, first switch to Preview, then tap the Adjust display floating action button (FAB) in the lower-right corner. The adjustment panel opens over the actual document you are editing. The available controls depend on the text-page format:

• Plain Text supports font size, line spacing, and separate top, bottom, left, and right page margins.
• Markdown supports font size, line spacing, and separate top, bottom, left, and right page margins.
• ChordPro supports font size, line spacing, separate page margins, and a ChordPro layout preset. The layout preset is available only for ChordPro.
• Fumen uses the fixed layout defined by its renderer. Font size, line spacing, and page margins are not adjustable; the panel only explains that the layout is fixed.

Changes appear immediately in the document behind the panel. You can turn through a multipage document and continue paging outside the panel while checking the overall balance. Each value applies globally to every text page that supports it. When you are finished, close the panel with its close button, the Adjust display FAB, or Back.

Advanced Display Settings is the lower-frequency management screen for additional fonts and reviewing text-page defaults together. For routine finishing work against the current document, use Adjust display in Preview.

Fumen uses the bundled Fumen engine to render fixed pages. The first render may take a moment; completed pages are reused from a lossless WebP cache.

Input Helpers

Input helpers are presented differently for each format. For ChordPro and Markdown pages, the editor always shows common commands above the text area and a helper panel on the right side of the screen, or below the editor on narrower screens. This helper panel groups items such as song information, performance details, body structure, formatting, and color tags. For ChordPro, you can insert the song title, key, capo, BPM, time signature, and section headings such as Intro, Verse, and Chorus. For Markdown, you can insert headings, bulleted lists, checklists, bold, italics, links, and color tags. Color tags are an app-specific extension. For Fumen, a small quick bar lets you enter common barlines and create a new row directly. Tap Chord, Structure, or More to open a single helper panel only when you need to enter chord symbols, song structure, or other supported notation. Press and hold an assist button to read its explanation without running the action. Plain Text does not show syntax-specific input helpers. When text is selected, running a command converts that selection into a chord, bold text, color tag, or similar syntax. With only the cursor active, the command inserts the appropriate syntax at that position. For ChordPro and Markdown, drag the handle between the editor and the persistent helper panel to give either side more room.

Transpose and Reference

For ChordPro text pages, you can open the transpose tool and a quick reference sheet. Both are handy when you need to adjust the playing key while polishing a chart, or when you need a quick reminder of the syntax.

Troubleshooting

• Input helpers or transpose option are missing — Plain Text does not show syntax-specific input helpers. Fumen shows a small quick bar where you can open the Chord, Structure, and More helper panels. ChordPro and Markdown pages show a command bar and persistent helper panel. Transpose is available only for ChordPro pages. Check the song or score's text page format.
• "Key required" error when transposing — The app cannot determine a reference pitch without a key directive. Add a key directive near the top of the content (e.g., {key: C}) and try transposing again.
