Set the output destination for mixer A/B and adjust volume, pan, and mute for each source (audio, metronome, keyboard).

Mixer Settings

Open this sheet when you want to route the metronome to a separate output, or balance the volume between a backing track and the keyboard. Here you set the output routing for audio, metronome, and keyboard, and adjust each source's volume, pan, and mute.

What You Can Do Here

Pan for audio is only adjustable on some devices. Pan for metronome and keyboard is adjustable on all devices.

When to Use This

Switching between mixer A and B is a quick way to toggle between two routing presets. For example, set A to "Show: external audio interface" and B to "Practice: built-in speaker," so you never have to reconfigure every time your setup changes.

With a multi-output audio interface, you can also use mixer A for the PA (backing track only) and mixer B for a click send to the drummer (click-focused), turning it into a simple click-sync rig.

Things to Know About Output Destinations

Where you route a mixer changes how you adjust volume and how the device behaves.

Outputs Where the Hardware Volume Buttons Work

When you output to the built-in speaker or a simple single-stereo output (stereo pair 1-2 on the system default device), the device's hardware volume buttons change the volume directly.

When you output to a pair other than 1-2 (such as 3-4 on an audio interface), or split audio across several destinations at once, the hardware volume buttons have no effect. This is a constraint of handling multiple outputs simultaneously. In that case, adjust the volume with the knob on the audio interface or with each source's volume in this sheet.

When You Unplug the Audio Interface

If you unplug the cable while outputting to an audio interface, audio does not automatically switch to the built-in speaker. PagePilot waits for the same device to reconnect, and routing returns automatically once you plug it back in.

This prevents accidentally playing sound from the built-in speaker during a show. While the output device is missing, a yellow warning triangle appears on the mixer icon and the output row. To play from the built-in speaker, reselect the output destination (device).

Sample Rate Limit

The output sample rate can be set up to 96 kHz. Capping it here keeps the load on the device down and prioritizes stable operation during a show.

This is not a limit on the source material. You can load audio above 96 kHz; it is converted to the chosen output sample rate for playback.
