When audio reaches your ears later than the on-screen motion, save a correction per output device so visual timing matches what you hear.

Output Device Latency

Output Device Latency

Bluetooth speakers, earbuds, and audio interfaces can all add a small delay before sound actually reaches your ears. When that delay is noticeable, the click may be correct but the ball, timeline, or other visual feedback can feel slightly early.

Output device latency saves a correction for each output device. Most users can leave it at 0.

During performance setup, open this from "Calibrate Output Latency" near the output destination in Mixer Settings. To review saved corrections later, use the Audio Output section in Global Settings.

When to Use It

If you want to change volume, pan, or the output destination itself, use Mixer Settings. Latency compensation does not choose where sound comes from; it aligns the timing between what you hear and what you see.

How Calibration Works

Before calibration, confirm that the physical output you intend to use is connected and selected in Mixer Settings. The calibration screen plays a click while a ball lands on screen. Move the slider until the heard click lands exactly with the ball touching the ground and the screen flash.

Save the value only when you can actually hear the calibration click from the intended output. If the click is silent, do not guess and save a value. Close calibration, reconnect and reselect the output in Mixer Settings, then try again.

When it feels aligned, save the value. It is stored for that output device name, so you do not need to repeat calibration every time you use the same device.

How to Open It

The Global Settings entry lets you review, edit, or remove saved corrections. The mixer entry calibrates the output device currently selected for that mixer.

"Calibrate Output Latency"

Adjusts the mismatch between the click and the screen for the connected output device currently used by the mixer. Calibration is not available during playback. Stop timeline playback or the metronome before opening it.

Calibration is blocked during playback because the calibration click and live playback share the same audio engine. Stopping first keeps the performance timeline and metronome from drifting while you adjust the value.

Reviewing Saved Corrections

The saved correction list shows a millisecond value for each output device name. Tap a value to edit it directly, or delete a row to remove the correction for that device.

When you switch to a new pair of earbuds or a different audio interface, calibrate that device instead of reusing an old value.
