Timeline Settings

The strip that shows audio or timer time, cues, and the playback position is what the app calls the timeline. Timeline Settings is where you adjust how it looks and how you edit it. In most cases the defaults are fine.

Open this screen from "Timeline Details" in Global Settings. If you arrived here from search, treat it as a detailed setting that only matters for songs with audio or automatic page turns.

Come back to it when you find yourself thinking "I want the timeline on screen all the time", "I want stopping to take me back to the top", or "I want my cues to land on the beat".

Display

Decide how much of the timeline is on screen while you play. Choose based on whether you want to watch the time left and the next cue, or want as much room for the score as possible.

Timeline Progress Bar

In paged displays, a thin bar shows how far along you are toward the next cue. Use it when you want to see at a glance how close the next page turn is in a song with a timeline.

Turn it off if you would rather have the screen space, or if the bar pulls your eye.

Timeline Display

Choose whether the timeline appears only when needed, stays on screen, or stays hidden.

• When Needed: pick this if you are not sure. The timeline shows up for songs that have one.
• Always: useful when you want the position and the cues in view the whole time.
• Hidden: use this when you want nothing but the score, even for songs that have a timeline.

Playback

Choose where timeline playback goes when you stop it.

Return to Start on Stop

When enabled, stopping playback returns the position to the beginning of the song. This is useful for rehearsing from the top repeatedly or checking a song from a consistent starting point.

When disabled, the position stays where you stopped. That is better for fixing cues or repeatedly checking the same section.

Editing Aids

These settings help while creating or adjusting timelines. They are mostly for preparation, not performance.

Snap to Beat

When the metronome is enabled, moving the playback position or adding or dragging a cue aligns it to the nearest beat. Enable it when page turns or tempo changes should land on the click.

Turn it off when you need free timing or when the audio has natural drift.

Default Bar Number Correction

This is the starting bar-number correction copied into every song you add from now on, so the numbers the app counts line up with the ones printed on the page. Use it when a pickup bar or an intro makes the app's counting differ from the score.

It does not move the playback position or the time of any cue. It only shifts the bar numbers you see.
