Timeline Settings

Timeline Settings lets you tune how timeline-based page turns and auto-follow feel in your own workflow. Most users can keep the default values.

Open this screen from "Timeline Details" in Global Settings. If you arrived here from search, treat it as an advanced setting that matters only for songs that use timelines.

Open this screen only when you want the timeline to stay visible, stop playback to return to the beginning, or edit cues against the beat grid.

Display

Choose how visible the timeline should be. The decision depends on whether you want timing context during performance or the largest possible score area.

Page-Turn Progress Bar

In paged displays, this shows a compact indication of progress toward the next page turn or cue. Use it when you want to see at a glance how close the next page turn is in a song with a timeline.

Turn it off if the extra indicator distracts you or if you want to preserve score space.

Timeline Display

Choose whether the timeline appears only when needed, always stays visible, or stays hidden.

• Only when needed: A good default. Shows the timeline for songs where it matters.
• Always: Useful when you want to watch timeline position and cues while performing or checking a song.
• Hidden: Use this when you want the screen to show only the score, even for songs that have a timeline.

Playback

Choose where timeline playback goes when you stop it.

Return to Start on Stop

When enabled, stopping playback returns the position to the beginning of the song. This is useful for rehearsing from the top repeatedly or checking a song from a consistent starting point.

When disabled, the position stays where you stopped. That is better for fixing cues or repeatedly checking the same section.

Editing Aids

These settings help while creating or adjusting timelines. They are mostly for preparation, not performance.

Snap to Beat

When the metronome is enabled, moving the playback position or adding or dragging a cue aligns it to the nearest beat. Enable it when page turns or tempo changes should land on the click.

Turn it off when you need free timing or when the audio has natural drift.

Default Bar-Number Correction

This sets the default correction for bar numbers shown on newly created cues. Use it when pickups, intros, or printed bar numbers make the app's counting differ from the score.

This does not move audio or timeline timing. It only adjusts displayed bar numbers.
