Set the opening tempo and meter, align the backing audio using its waveform, then match the score's printed bar numbers.
Align Tempo, Meter, and Audio Start
If the backing track does not meet the opening beat, use Timing Adjustment while listening to it. The waveform helps you find where sounds become stronger. You do not have to identify the correct beat from its shape alone: play the audio and move it until it sounds right.
Open It and Work in Order
In Item Settings, under Playback, tap a row in Timing Adjustment. The screen opens the matching Tempo & Meter, Audio Start, or Bar Numbers tab. You can switch tabs at the top. Set the tempo and meter first, align the audio start next, then match the printed bar numbers. Choose audio for this song before adjusting its start.
Changes also affect other setlists using the same song. Duplicate the song first if this performance needs different audio or timing.
Set Tempo and Meter
Use Tempo & Meter to set the opening BPM and time signature. If audio is assigned, tap Find BPM from audio to analyze it in a separate sheet. Choose the detected value or its nearest whole BPM to set the tempo. For example, a result of 119.98 BPM offers Set 119.98 BPM and Set 120 BPM. Tap Cancel to leave the tempo unchanged. If neither value fits, enter a BPM or use Tap Tempo.
Suggestions are rounded to two decimal places: 119.9998 becomes 120, 100.001 becomes 100, and 100.01 stays 100.01. The suggestion may be twice or half the tempo you need. Listen to more than the opening if it is hard to tell. Changing BPM does not move cues saved at fixed times; if there are timed cues, the app asks you to confirm before applying. Set tempo or meter changes later in the song at their cues.
Align Audio Start with the Waveform
- Open Audio Start. The waveform shows changes in the backing audio's level, with lines marking beats. Start Loop the surrounding 4 s and listen to the opening.
- Listen for the sound that should land on the beat, then drag the waveform left or right toward the beat line. Tapping the waveform moves the playback position. Listen to the loop and check the sound against the beat.
- Drag for larger changes. Use Zoom to 0.5 s or the +1 ms and −1 ms buttons for smaller changes. +1 ms moves the first beat later within the audio; −1 ms moves it earlier. Hold either button for steady adjustment. Beat and bar steps are also available. Cycle through 4 s, 0.5 s, and 10 s to change how much you can see.
- Stop the loop and return to the Score Viewer. Play through the opening and important cues to check that the needed pages appear in time.
A visible peak is not necessarily a downbeat. If the start of a sound is hard to see, listen and move the waveform back and forth. Dragging saves the change when you release; the buttons save their changes too. Use Undo and Redo at the top to compare settings.
If the waveform cannot be displayed, playback and numerical adjustment still work. Tap Retry if shown. If no audio is assigned, return to Item Settings and choose one.
The number is where the first beat falls within the audio. Use 1.5 s for a first beat 1.5 seconds into the file, or −1.5 s for 1.5 seconds of space before the audio starts. The metronome plays during that space. Negative bar numbers and beat lines continue before bar 1, so you can align a count-in while listening.
Match the Bar Numbers
After the audio is aligned, open Bar Numbers. Bar Number Correction matches the displayed numbers to those printed on the score; it does not move the audio. Score Starts at Bar marks where the score's first bar begins after a count-in or an unwritten intro. Item Settings explains how these differ.
If only one page turn is early or late after the opening is aligned, fine adjust that cue's position instead of moving the audio start.
